Universal Disc Player

The UDP800 is a universal disc player, meaning it not only plays 4K blu-ray discs, but it also supports regular blu-rays, 3D blu-rays, DVDs, CDs, SACDs, and even media files with H265 & H264 support.

HDR Technology

The UDP800 supports high dynamic image formats such as Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HDR10 with stunning HDR to SDR conversion, with BT.2020/BT.709/BT.601 colour space support. HDR brings eye-popping brightness, contrast and gorgeous colours to your media, bringing out the full richness of each frame like never before*.

4K Upscaling

With 4K upscaling, the UDP800 can convert low resolution video sources up to 4K 50/60Hz (3840 x 2160) resolution. Four times the resolution of full HD 1080p, enhancing your home video experience.

The UDP800 supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, as well as Dolby Atmos and DTS-X, enabling you to enjoy the best panoramic and immersive sound experience.

High Fidelity Lossless Music

In addition, the UDP800 features support for high end audio playback. It can decode DSD64/128, multichannel DSD64, and 192kHz/24-bit PCM formats with FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC and APE file support.

Premium Digital to Analog Converter

For Pure Audio playback, UDP800 specifically adopts a 4-layer PCB circuit board where each channel is designed with independent wiring. Two independent Burr-Brown PCM 1795 DAC processors are used for two-channel D/A decoding, processing left channel and right channel respectively, and high-quality MUSES8920 OP-AMPs for audiophile sound quality. The UDP800 features stereo XLR gold-plated balanced terminals and stereo RCA gold-plated unbalanced outputs. A bespoke "Pure Audio" mode function is available to bring uncompromised sound quality to music lovers.

High-Power Transformer

MAGNETAR employs a specially selected custom 60W high-power low noise transformer for the UDP800, with a two-stage filter design along with Japanese Rubycon electrolytic capacitors to meet the high transient response required by surround sound systems and high-resolution audio. Housed in it's own separate metal case to further lower noise levels, providing stability and silence, further improving audio and video quality.

Full Multimedia Experience

The UDP800 supports multiple disc and media formats, such as UHD-BD, BD, BD-R, BD-RE, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, SACD, CD, CD-R/RW. In addition, USB HDDs up to 16TB are supported with direct access from your computer or NAS through your local network using DLNA or SMB protocols.

Elegant & Solid Chassis Construction

Achieving exceptional audio and video performance requires high quality chassis construction and stability. The UDP800 provides a brushed aluminium front panel, in a solid highly rigid metal chassis to greatly improve audio and video performance. With a distinctive double layer chassis structure thickened to 1.6mm and a 3mm steel plate under its base, reducing vibration and generated noise during playback the UDP800 tips the scales at 8kgs!

Additionally, major internal components including the CD mechanism and power supply are independently shielded to reduce external magnetic fields. Simply put, Magnetar is high-end home entertainment at his best.
