Best of all, it retains every performance and material characteristic of the original 2M Red.

And that’s a very good thing, given 2MR Red is as good as audiophile-grade moving-magnet types come at its price point. Open, slightly warm, and a truly all-purpose design, 2MR Red uses a tipped elliptical diamond stylus and rubber dampers for accurate retrieval of the information in the record groove.

Ortofon's trademark quad-coils motor system and split pole pins enable flat frequency response, just like that of a moving-coil cartridge. An improved engine provides an increased output of 5.5mV. Plus, it is compatible with Ortofon 2M replacement styli and mounts easily and quickly, via two screws.
